Why it matters

Should schools spend time on wellbeing?

Wellbeing work does not compete with academic results. Self-discipline predicts school grades about twice as well as IQ does.

Nearly one in five young people has an episode of clinical depression by the end of secondary school. There is now strong evidence that the skills of wellbeing, including resilience, engagement, and meaning, can be taught in the classroom. The most-studied resilience curriculum alone has been tested in seventeen controlled studies with over two thousand children.

Schools sometimes worry that this work takes time away from results. The research points the other way. Positive mood broadens attention and produces more creative thinking, and self-discipline predicts school grades about twice as well as IQ.

I am so grateful for this programme. It finally gave me a real chance to learn things I had always wanted to, but never knew how to start. I picked up so much. Even making a slide deck takes skills to hold an audience that I had never noticed, and there is real craft to writing a CV. From start to finish, it was a memorable and genuinely joyful experience.

Our approach

The skills of achievement and flourishing, taught together.

01
Research-backed

Our character and wellbeing programmes use interventions that have passed the hardest test in the field: randomised, placebo-controlled trials. We can show you the study behind every module.

02
Experiential

Every programme is built around practice, not presentation. Students identify their signature strengths and use them in new ways, and keep the gains when they keep practising.

03
Personalised

No off-the-shelf decks. We listen first, then design around your school's needs: your year group, pastoral context, neurodiversity considerations, and language of instruction. The training fits your school, not the other way around.
